AI in Yab
AI on the plan you already pay for.
Connect Claude or ChatGPT once. Ask about any page, get replies drafted where you write them, and hand off the errands that take ten tabs.
Free, for macOS 15.4 or later. Version 0.0.18
Right where you are
Ask, and it does it on the page.
Ask from the address bar.
Type anything in T and you get Search, Ask Claude and Task for Claude. A question puts Ask on top, and the answer appears in the field.
- It knows the page from L: “what’s the price here in euros?”
- It searches what you read: “that sourdough article from last week”.
- turns the answer into a task.
J does what the page is for.
Say it in your words. The pills show what Claude sees: this page, your selection, any tab you add. Writing ends as a draft in the page’s own box; nothing is sent until you press Send.
- R rewrites, 1 to 3 shorter, warmer, more direct.
- Site actions: Draft a reply, Review this pull request, Plan this issue, Sum it up, Track this order, Cancel subscription.
A chat beside the page.
S opens the chat. One line says what Claude is doing; click it for every step. Its questions take the place of the field.
- steers it now, queues for after this step.
- Attach tabs, a screenshot or files, or drop them on it.
- Switch the model under the title. Chats keep a week, or for good.
While you do something else
Errands, in tabs of their own.
It brings back an answer.
“The best espresso grinder under $300, on ten sites.” Claude opens its tabs in its own folder, never in front of you, and leaves an answer page: the pick, why, a table, the sources.
- Up to eight helpers at once.
- Done closes the tabs it opened. T brings them back.
- Finished while you’re away: a quiet notice, and it waits in ⌘T.
It asks before it pays.
Sending, paying, deleting and uploading wait for your yes, with the real amount. Sign-ins, captchas and codes come back to you as a tab: finish it, and it carries on.
- Passwords are filled by Yab and never shown to Claude. Cards go in after Touch ID.
- Take over . any time.
On its own
Routines, and folders that keep up.
The same check, every morning.
“Every weekday at 9, check my mail and Linear for anything that needs me.” A routine runs on its own while Yab is open and stays quiet when there’s nothing new.
- When: every day, weekdays, chosen days, every 1, 2 or 4 hours, or when Yab opens.
- Only Read by default, or Ask Before Acting.
- Repeat… under any answer makes one, or type a sentence that starts with a time.
Folders that keep themselves up to date.
“Every hour, one-bedrooms in the Mission under $4,500.” New ones come in on top, a price changes at the row’s end, a rented one is struck through. You never reload.
- Keep Up to Date… on any folder of yours.
- Live folders do it with no AI at all: your pull requests, Linear issues, Notion, Drive, Figma, YouTube.
A new tab that knows your day.
Turn on “Keep an eye on things for me”. The first new tab of the morning shows what needs you, from the places you’re signed in to, without marking anything read.
- A row opens the page on the exact words.
- Later Today, Tomorrow Morning, Done, or Don’t Show Things Like This.
On your words
AI commands, forms and memory.
Commands on any text you select.
Select text and press J. Improve Writing, Fix Spelling, Translate and Summarize run on your Mac, so the words never leave it.
- Turn on more: shorter, friendlier, Define, Explain Code, Find Bugs, Add to Calendar.
- Your own commands with {selection} and {page}, their own model and key. Bring yours from Raycast.
- Keep as a Command turns a question into one.
It gets to know you once.
Get to Know Me reads, about ten minutes, from where you’re already signed in, and leaves a notebook you can correct. Then fills a whole form and drafts the open questions in your voice.
- Money, IDs, health and consent stay yours to fill.
- Nothing is sent; Z undoes the fill.
- Every agent starts knowing your notes, kept on your Mac.
Small things, done quietly.
- Hold on a link for a sentence or two on what’s behind it, made on your Mac.
- Short names for kept tabs: “Nginx reverse proxy”, not a 90-character title.
- When a plan runs out, the same chat carries on with the other one.
- Several accounts per plan, with a ring for what’s left.
