Yab 0.34.0
Build 202610211512
Split View with your pins, this space's tabs first in ⌘T, a speaker of your choice in calls, link previews before you open them, and Cursor or your own API key for the assistant.
Added
While You Browse
Tidy Tab Titles, Folder Names, Tidy Downloads, Instant Links and Link Previews are together in Settings › AI › While You Browse, each with its own switch.
Instant Links
Press ⇧↩ in the address field to open the top search result. Separate searches with commas, or ask for the top three results.
Link Previews
Rest on a link in supported search results, Hacker News, X or Threads, or hold ⇧ over any link, to preview it before you open it. Summaries stay on this Mac.
Your own API key
No Claude or ChatGPT plan? Connect an assistant with your own API key in Settings › Agents.
Cursor
Connect your Cursor plan in Settings › AI › Models, like Claude and ChatGPT, and pick its models for chats and tasks.
Pinch a peek
Pinch out on a peek to keep it as a tab, or pinch in to put it back into its link.
Meeting folders
Joining a meeting puts its call in a folder named for it, with the minutes left, as in Dia. Turn it off in Settings › Tabs › Group tabs for meetings.
First Edition
A First Edition icon, a thank-you for your feedback, opens in Yab from its gift link and stays your Dock icon after restarts.
Split View with pins
A pinned tab makes a Split View pair like any other tab: Split with Current Tab, ⌃⌘\, ⌘T's Split View or dragging it to the page's edge. Pinning half of a pair keeps the split on screen.
Speaker for calls
On Google Meet, the call window lists your Mac's speakers, and the call plays on the one you pick.
Bookmark from the address
Rest on the address over the page and a star comes out beside it: it bookmarks the page or takes the bookmark off, and ⌘Z puts it back. Split View has its own button at the end of the bar.
Sidebar button
A sidebar button sits after the window's traffic lights, as in Arc: click it to hide or show the sidebar.
Improved
Browser menus
View has Theme, Show Full URL beside Show Address Bar, and Split View; Go to Tab picks a tab by number, Developer gathers the developer tools, and a new Spaces menu moves a tab to another space, all on your own shortcuts. The Yab menu has Make Yab Default Browser, Import from Another Browser and Invite a Friend; Help has Copy Diagnostics.
Little Arc
The small link window uses Yab's standard address field and hands a kept page to the main window with its contents intact.
Dates in mail
Dates in plain-text mail use the message's own ink, with the underline marking the calendar action.
Pages in ⌘T
Pages found in what you read are plain page rows: the site's icon, title and address, and when you visited.
Only what can run
With no assistant connected, Yab no longer shows Ask, Task or other actions that need one.
Mail sign-in
Sign In Again and Add Account bring Settings back once Google answers.
Mail agents off
With Mail's agents off, Settings › Mail opens with Turn On above your accounts.
One look
Menus, Settings pages, tips and key hints use the same marks and words throughout.
This space's tabs first
In ⌘T, open tabs in the space you're on come first. Tabs in other spaces follow with their space's mark, still above search suggestions.
Nested folders across the top
With tabs across the top, each open folder's color starts at its own name and sits inside its parent's, so nested folders read apart.
Tabs opened out of sight
With the sidebar or the tabs across the top put away, a link you ⌘-click or middle-click says in the corner which page opened in a new tab.
Floating video corners
The floating video and the call window have the same rounded corners as the browser window.
Split View says why
When ⌃⌘\ can't make a pair, the corner says why, like a window too narrow for two pages.
Buttons over dark pages
A peek's buttons and the agent's pointer and controls turn light over dark pages like X or YouTube.
Questions from a chat
When a chat needs your yes to search your mail or go to a site, it asks in the chat and with a notification, not on the tab you're on.
Private address field
A private tab's address field opens like every other place, with Private at its foot; Escape or ⌫ in the empty field leaves it.
A quieter sidebar head
The reading mode button no longer sits in the sidebar's head.
Edge to edge looks the same
Edge to edge, the docked sidebar wears your space's color, Glass and transparency exactly as it does on a color.
Sending feedback
Send Feedback takes photos from Photos, attachments from Mail and pictures from other apps, and no longer lights up for a folder it can't attach.
Fixed
Switching on the site's color
With the window on the site's color, switching tabs is as quick as on a color of your own, with dozens of tabs and many extensions too.
Print sheet
⌘P's sheet opens over the browser window, not over whichever window was in front.
Agent tabs from extensions
A tab an extension opens for an agent belongs to the agent and closes with its other tabs.
Delete on a page
Pressing Delete on a page, such as a YouTube video, no longer goes back to the page before.
Changing the window's look
Switching between Edge to edge, A color and The site's color no longer shows the desktop through the window for a moment.
Swiping to Mail edge to edge
Edge to edge, the sidebar's color moves across with the row of spaces when you swipe or switch to Mail or another space, without a seam.
Notices in a peek
A notice in a peek comes out from the peek's top edge.
Claude artifacts
Artifacts on claude.ai open in Yab instead of saying the browser isn't supported.
Sound after sleep
Opening your Mac no longer starts the videos you had playing before it slept.
Full screen menu bar
In full screen, moving to the menu bar on a Mac without a notch no longer brings the hidden sidebar out.
Switching spaces with folders
Switching spaces no longer replays every row of an open folder, so a space with big folders switches without stutter.
Scrolling ⌘T
Moving the pointer over Put Yab on my iPhone no longer scrolls ⌘T's list back to the top.
