Website Privacy

This page is about yetanotherbrowser.com, the site. The Yab app is covered by its own privacy policy, and sends nothing to Google Analytics.

Our own counts

The site counts its visits and downloads as numbers: for each day, the page shown or the disk image downloaded, and where the visit came from, either a tag in the link (such as ?ref=hn) or the name of the site that linked here. These counts set no cookie and keep no address or ID. While you read, the page keeps where you came from in its own memory, so the pages you go on to and the download count under the same source.

Google Analytics

The site also uses Google Analytics to see which pages people read, how they found them and whether they download Yab. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_… with a random ID, kept up to two years, so Google can tell a returning visitor from a new one. Google gets the pages you view, the site that sent you, your browser, device and screen, and a rough location from your network address, which Google Analytics doesn’t store. We use it only to understand the site and don’t use it for ads: ad storage and ad personalization stay off.

Google handles this data under its own privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites.

Search Console

Google Search Console tells us which searches showed the site and how often people clicked. It reports searches in total, not anyone’s visit, and sets nothing on this site.

Hosting

Vercel, which runs the site, sees the network address of every request, as any web host does, and keeps its request logs for a day at most.
