Yab 0.0.18
Pop-ups are kept back, routines repeat on any schedule, and Look works as Arc's editor.
Added
Open at Login
Settings › General › Open at Login opens Yab hidden as you log in.
Pop-ups kept back
A window a page opens without your click is kept back, and "Window blocked" beside the site opens it or always allows the site.
Page not working?
Reload a site three times in twenty seconds on a page the ad blocker changed, and the corner offers Allow Ads Here.
Routines on any schedule
Routines repeat monthly, on a weekday of the month like the last Friday, every few days or weeks, yearly, or more than once a day.
Look as Arc's
A space's Look works as Arc's editor: pages of ready colors and gradients under the field, Auto, Light or Dark for each space, and + and − to add or take away a color.
Resize by dragging
In Developer Tools' device mode, drag the page's edges or corner to any size, as in Chrome's Responsive mode.
Fold a space
Click a space's name above its tabs to fold its kept tabs and folders away, or bring them back, as in Arc. Its ••• or a right click opens the space's menu.
Agents send what you asked
An agent can send a mail from Yab's mail page when you asked for exactly that one, after you say yes on a card showing who it goes to, the subject and the words.
Check for Updates
The Yab menu has Check for Updates…, and Restart to Update once an update is ready.
Pinned addresses
Pinned and kept tabs remember the page they were pinned on, as in Arc: once you browse away, the row shows a slash and the page you're on, and a click on its icon takes you back. Edit Pinned Page in its menu makes the current page its address, or lets you type one.
Glass in Look
On macOS 26, a space's transparency ends in a bead of Liquid Glass: pull past the end and the window frame turns to glass tinted with the space's color.
Labels' menu
A right click on a label in mail's column offers Mark All as Read, Rename, New Label Inside, Move To, Make a Split of its senders, Hide and Delete, as a folder's does.
Improved
Tabs you just used stay
When memory runs out, tabs you looked at in the last ten minutes, tabs playing sound, pins, kept tabs and sites kept awake stay, as in Chrome. "Put idle tabs to sleep" now only sets the four-hour timer, off unless you turn it on.
Tabs from a window behind
A tab in a window behind another can be picked or dragged on the first click, as in Chrome.
A tab's close button
A tab's close button comes with the tab's highlight, faint, and gets its square only under the pointer.
Console as Chrome's
Console's prompt sits right after the last message, and Developer Tools' head shows one count of errors and warnings, only when there are some, that opens Console.
Same marks for errors
Developer Tools' errors list marks Errors and Warnings with the same ⊗ and ⚠ as Console, instead of colored dots.
Application's sidebar
Rows in Developer Tools' Application sidebar take every click, as in Chrome.
Updates within the hour
Yab looks for updates every hour instead of once a day, and an urgent fix restarts Yab by itself once you have been away for ten minutes, your tabs back as after ⌘Q.
Any setting by asking
⌘T and ⌘J can change any setting tasks can change, like the search engine or peek, not only the theme, sidebar, tabs, fonts, zoom, mail and bookmarks.
A kept tab's minus
A kept tab shows a minus under the pointer, as Arc's pinned tabs do: it puts the tab down and keeps it. Put down, its cross takes it out of your kept tabs.
Files by their path
A path on your Mac typed or pasted in the field, like ~/Downloads/report.pdf, opens the file instead of searching for it.
Smoother with sync on
With sync on, picking a tab or an agent's step no longer counts everything sync holds on the main thread, which could hold the window for seconds on a busy Mac.
Look's buttons
Auto, Light, Dark, ••• and the close button over a look's colors sit on a blurred plate, so they read over any color.
Pages full of frames
Pages with many frames, like ads and embeds, set up Yab's passwords and passkeys only where a frame has a box for them, and only once per change of your list.
Switching spaces
With many tabs, switching spaces starts sliding at once instead of after a pause.
New windows
A new window opens on the screen of the window it came from, a step right of and below it, as macOS does.
Tabs out of a full window
A tab dragged to the edge of a window that fills its screen comes out into a window of its own.
Shortcuts in ⌘T
The chosen row in ⌘T's list keeps its own shortcut at its end, as in Raycast.
Needs you
Mail's Needs you and the new tab's Now leave out cold sales sequences and automated mail.
A kept tab's minus
A kept tab's minus turns into its cross as the tab is put down.
Address over glass
The column's address blurs what shows through it over glass and drawings, so it stays readable.
Quieter new chat
A new chat shows nothing over its field when there is nothing useful to suggest.
Changed
Sites' picture in picture
A site's own Picture-in-Picture button, as on X, puts its video in the system's Picture in Picture window, as in Safari, and the page stays in its tab.
Looks live in Spaces
With spaces, each space's look is set on its page in Settings › Spaces; Appearance points there.
Fixed
A Yab window in a call
A Yab window can be shown in a call held in Yab, listed first among the windows, even without Screen Recording.
Passwords changed in sync
A password changed on a Mac just as sync wrote it, or written in late on a busy Mac, stays changed and reaches your other Macs.
Joining sync again
A Mac removed from sync can join again.
Quitting with an agent at work
⌘Q while an agent works puts your tabs to sleep at once instead of leaving them running until it's done, and a task waiting on you no longer keeps Yab running in the background.
Clicks on the page
Clicks on the page, the address and Developer Tools reach them again; an earlier 0.0.17 build could lose them.
Bitwarden passkeys
Bitwarden's passkey prompt opens in a small window of its own, as in Chrome, and closes once you pick a passkey, where each request opened another Bitwarden tab and the sign-in never finished.
Frozen tabs
When WebKit's drawing process stops answering, Yab restarts it by itself and your pages draw again, where a tab you picked kept showing the one before and pages never loaded.
⌥⌫ in the field
⌥⌫ in the field takes off the address it was completing, then the word before the cursor, as in Chrome.
Devices that answer only https
A router's or phone's page that answers only over https opens, where typing its address gave "The site won't accept connections".
Look beside the sidebar
With the sidebar hidden and brought out over the page, Edit Look opens beside it instead of over it, and the sidebar stays out while you use the card.
Traffic lights
Pointing at the close, minimize or zoom button shows the marks on all three, every time.
Sidebar slides again
The sidebar (⌘S) and the agent's chat column slide with the page again instead of popping in and out.
Tabs across the top
No line before the first tab when nothing is kept, the tab's × matches the icons beside it, and an open folder's name is no longer cut off.
Site icons
Sites that check for bots first, like Dribbble, show their icon instead of a letter.
Bitwarden passkeys on GitHub
A Bitwarden passkey works on a page left open a while: GitHub's Continue with passkey waits for your pick instead of failing at once.
Mail's account chooser
Mail's account chooser opens again after switching spaces.
Mail's list
Mail's list closes up smoothly when an agent archives a mail.
Bookmarks bar switch
The bookmarks bar's switch in Settings brings the bar in and out smoothly, as ⌃⌘B does.
Sidebar over the look card
The sidebar brought out over the page stays out while the look card or a menu is open.
Agent's memory
The line under an agent's chat says what it remembers in words, not markdown.
Free, for macOS 15.4 or later.
