Everything AI in Yab runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan. Yab gives it a browser: your tabs, your sites, signed in as you. There is no Yab account, and Yab adds nothing to what your plan costs.
Connect#
- Open Settings › AI (or choose your agent in the welcome).
- Tick Claude, ChatGPT or both, and press Connect. Yab sets up what’s missing first.
- Sign in to your plan in the tab Yab opens. Yab never sees your sign-in: the agent keeps it.
Claude needs a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan. ChatGPT works on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu, and Free and Go may too, with low limits.
What connecting puts on your Mac#
- Claude Code or Codex, if they aren’t there yet: Anthropic’s and OpenAI’s own tools, which Yab runs for you on your plan.
- The
yabcommand, so you and your agents can use Yab from a terminal. - Yab’s skill and tools (an MCP server named
yab-browser) in Claude Code’s and Codex’s own settings, so they use Yab when you ask them in their own app, too.
Settings › Developers shows where each went, puts a missing or older one right, and removes one at a time. Disconnect in Settings › AI › Agents takes back all of it, and only that.
Ask from Claude Code or Codex#
In a terminal or in their app, ask for anything on the web and name Yab’s skill:
use /yab-browser to open my GitHub notifications and tell me what needs meIn Codex the skill is $yab-browser. The agent opens tabs of its own in Yab, beside yours, and you can watch it work.
