Tabs and Windows

Split View

Any two tabs side by side, in one.

⌃⌘\

Split#

  • Press ⌃⌘\ and say where to go: that page comes in on the right.
  • Right-click another tab and choose Split with Current Tab.
  • Drag a tab from the row down over the page and drop it beside, or instead of, a half.

Both halves stay ordinary tabs, next to each other in the row, and move together. Each half has its own address bar. The one you clicked last is in front, so ⌘L, ⌘R, ⌘F and zoom go to it.

Size and separate#

Drag the divider to give one half more room, and double-click it to even them out. To separate, press ⌃⌘\ again, click the cross on a half, or close one: the other takes the whole page.
