Your search engine#
Words that aren’t an address are searched with the engine in Settings › Search › Search with: Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, Ecosia, Startpage, Kagi, Brave Search, Qwant, or any other with Other…, given its address with %s where the words go. ⌥↩ searches words that look like an address, such as node.js.
Search a site#
Type a site’s name and press ⇥: the field takes the site’s color and says Search YouTube. Type and press ↩ to search it, or ↩ with nothing typed to go to the site. Your earlier searches there are listed under the field. ⌫ in the empty field leaves the site.
Some come with a short alias:
ytghwikigpt pplxmaps img trso hn phClaude, Gmail, Google Drive, Reddit, X, LinkedIn, MDN, npm, Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, Twitch, Netflix, IMDb, Pinterest, Dribbble and others work by name.
Sites it learns#
A site that offers its own search is learned the first time you visit it, so you can search it the same way next time. Settings › Search › Sites lists them all: give one an alias, turn it off, or Add Site… with a keyword and a search address of your own.
