The Field

History

Every page you visited, found by its title, its address, or the words that were on it.

⌘Y

⌘Y opens your history in the field, newest first, day by day.

Find a page by what it said#

One word looks in titles and addresses. Two or more also look through the text of the pages themselves, and ↩ opens the page scrolled to your words. Add when and where to narrow it: pricing yesterday, invoice last week on stripe.

Or just ask, in the plain field: what was that article about sourdough I read last week? and Ask Claude answers from what History finds for your words.

Open the page↩
Open it in a background tab⌥↩
Copy its link, its Markdown link⌘↩or⇧⌘C
All time, today, this week⌘P
Forget the page⌃X

⌘K also forgets everything from a site, or the last hour, today or all of it, and exports your history as a CSV file.

A tab’s own history#

Swipe back with two fingers and keep pulling: past the pages this tab went through, Search History opens its own history. You can also press and hold the Back button for the list.

What is kept#

So History can find a page by its words, Yab keeps passages of each page you read, on this Mac only. Turn it off in Settings › Privacy › History › Remember what pages say. Private tabs and agent tabs are never recorded. Clear history is on the same page.
