Calendar in mail

Answer invitations where they came, see what they clash with, and put your free time in a reply.

⇧⌘A

Invitations#

A mail that invites you has a card over the thread: what, when in your time zone (and in theirs when it differs), where, who organizes it, how it repeats, and what changed if it moved. If it overlaps something in your calendar, the card says so in orange: “Overlaps Standup, 13:45–14:15”.

Your answer goes to the organizer as a mail their calendar understands, and waits like any mail you send, so ⌘Z takes it back for a few seconds. Answer again to change your mind; the card says what you said. A canceled event is struck through and asks nothing. Turn on the Calendar split to keep invitations in a list of their own.

Your free time, in a mail#

Writing a reply or a new mail, press ⇧⌘A: the field lists your free slots over the next five working days, from your calendar and within your working hours, the first of each of the next three days already picked. ↩ picks a slot or leaves it out, and a day or an hour, like thu or 14, narrows the list. Insert puts them in where the caret was, with your link to book you after them:

Tue 14:00–14:30, Wed 10:00–11:00 (CET)
Or book a time: https://cal.com/you

Settings › Mail sets your Working hours, the Slot length and the Booking link, under Calendar. In the list, ⇧⌘A still picks every row.
